    How PSX Bazaar produces its data & analytics

    PSX Bazaar is an independent market data and analytics platform for the Pakistan Stock Exchange. We publish this methodology so investors understand exactly how our analytics and market data are produced — and where the limits of those models lie.

    Where our data comes from

    Live price data is sourced from official PSX feeds during trading hours (09:30–15:30 PKT, Monday to Friday). Corporate-action data (board meetings, book closures, dividends) is ingested from psx.com.pk and cross-checked against listed-company announcements. News articles are aggregated from a fixed list of editorial sources; each article carries its publisher attribution.

    Calculators & screeners

    Our calculators (risk, ROI, CAGR, SIP, commission, exchange-rate) implement standard, published financial formulas — inputs and assumptions are shown on each calculator page. The Stock Comparison tool ranks companies side by side on disclosed fundamental metrics (earnings, dividends, valuation ratios); it is a sorting tool, not a recommendation engine.

    Sector & index analytics

    Sector aggregates (weighted return, top gainers/losers, sector weight) are computed from constituent free-float market capitalisations, recalculated at each end-of-session close. Indices follow the official PSX index methodology; we do not rebalance independently.

    Update cadence

    • Live prices: refreshed every few seconds during market hours.
    • Sector analytics: regenerated every 5 minutes via ISR.
    • Individual stock detail pages: refreshed every 10 minutes.
    • News articles: ingested within minutes of publication.
    • Corporate actions: ingested at next polling cycle (typically <15 minutes).
